Overview of Manaslu Circuit Trek

Manaslu Circuit Trek is the restricted trek in Nepal. It would help if you had a special permit from Nepal Immigration to go here. This trekking starts from Arughat and ends at Beshisahar. Larke La Pass is the highest pass of this trekking, whose elevation is 5100 meters. Culturally and geographically, this trekking is diverse. Compared to classic trekking routes, this trekking is quiet and pretty good for trekking. Peregrine Treks offers you to do camping as well as tea house trek for the trekkers.

Manaslu Circuit Trek is a less traveled trekking area in Nepal than Annapurna and Everest trekking. Culturally and naturally rich, Manaslu Trekking is quiet and calm. Most parts of the Manaslu circuit trek trail lie on the bank of Budhi Gandaki River. This Manaslu Trekking starts from Arughat, just 500 meters high from sea level, and gradually ascends to 5100 meters, Larke La Pass. Then the Manaslu trekking trails start to descend and end at Beshisahar, so this trekking is a geographically diverse trekking area.

Gurung, Magar, and other ingenious people live in the lower parts of this Manaslu Circuit Trek area, and the upper parts are the home to the Sherpa and are influenced by Tibetan culture. It is believed that Tibetan immigrants started to migrate in 1600 AD. Still, the people from the upper part are making their trade with the Tibetan people.

Furthermore, You can see the greenery, small rivers, and waterfalls in the lower parts of the Manaslu Trekking. Moreover, in the upper parts, you can see the fantastic view of Mt. Manaslu, Mt. Himal Chuli, Mt. Nadi Chuli, Mt. Ganesh Himal, and many other small mountains. So, this Manaslu Circuit trekking area is pristine and excellent.

Trip Detail Information

Accommodation in Manaslu Circuit Trek

You have two accommodation options for this Manaslu Circuit Trek. The first one is tea house trekking. Now a day’s, local tea houses are available in this trekking area. This makes your trekking trip effortless and affordable. This is the best option for the Round Annapurna Trekking because of the motorway. Annapurna Round Trekking is crowded because of the roads and the high volume of trekkers. And the second option is camping trekking.

Tented camping trekking was mostly famous before 2014 because of insufficient tea houses. Still, trekkers now want to do camping trekking because they want to customize trekking per their itinerary. Peregrine Treks organizes both types of trekking for Manaslu Circuit Trekking. Camping trekking is slightly more expensive than tea house trekking. You have another choice to extend your Manaslu trekking with Tsum Valley Trek.

Best Season for Manaslu Circuit Trek

Spring Season

The best of the region’s perennial animals and plants are present from March to May due to the weather and temperature in the Manaslu region. The walk will be easy due to the moderate midday temperature of 10 degrees Celsius. There will also be an excellent view of the Manaslu region’s outstanding natural features. You can appreciate the stunning stars in the sky beneath the mountains at night when the temperature is below -3 degrees Celsius.

Autumn Season

Autumn is another ideal time to trek the Manaslu Circuit. The pine and rhododendron woodland that spans the Tear Rivers contributes to the trek’s chill atmosphere. It is pleasant with the ideal mountain landscape and no rain during the day, while the temperature remains 15 degrees Celsius. Additionally, at night, the temperature dips to -5 degrees Celsius.

Winter Season

Ascent will be slightly more complicated than usual due to the chilly wind blowing over the Larke La Pass and the Manaslu region. In addition, the temperature will progressively drop throughout the day to around 5 and -2 degrees Celsius, and at night it will stay at that level. The Manaslu Region will have beautiful snowy and foggy weather, but trekking this season requires some effort.

Summer Season

During this season, Manaslu Region is difficult to ascend because of the numerous obstacles and soggy terrain due to the bright sun and heavy rain. Likewise, during this season, there is a potential for both landslides and flooding. Daytime temperatures vary from 15 to 20 degrees Celsius, while nighttime temperature with heavy rain ranges from 3 to 5 degrees Celsius. You may find your expedition more adventurous due to this season’s roughness.

Manaslu Circuit Trek Difficulty

The intensity of Manaslu circuit trekking ranges from moderate to severe. The Larke La Pass, roughly 5106 meters above sea level, will be the trek’s highest point. Furthermore, this excursion includes steep trials, and a dusty route that traverses through tight passages of distant towns on the mountain’s side.

The fact that you will be ascending more than 5000m means that there is also a potential that you will experience altitude sickness. Additionally, the Stone Trials themselves could occasionally be deadly. As a result, you should prepare yourself with appropriate exercises to make your body sturdy for this excursion. The trail’s Larke la Glacier, and Namrung sections also need additional elevation gain.

There are also so many spots where you must gradually increase elevation. You may efficiently complete this expedition if you adequately prepare your mind and body and do proper research before the trek on the scenery, trials, and weather of the Manaslu region. Although this trek has moderate difficulty, anyone, from a beginner to an experienced hiker, can ascend it as long as they keep everything in shape.

Manaslu Circuit trek Length and Terrain

With a total distance of 180 km from the origin to the destination, the Manaslu circuit trek will be a little lengthier. This expedition’s mountaineering level will be challenging. The terrain is primarily vegetated and has a continuous, sharp incline across the settlements. Additionally, there will be rough obstacles to navigate, so use caution when stepping along their edges.

Similarly, the Larke La pass, which rises to a height of 5106 meters, would be the highest point of this expedition. Additionally, you’ll need to be confident and have worked out before the trek to trek over it. You only have to hike up the complex terrain; you don’t need any rock climbing gear. You may easily do this excursion with the bare minimum of trekking gear.

As you traverse the Tibetan communities near Samdo and Dharmasala, you will also have the opportunity to learn about the locals’ culture. Yaks and sheep will be in a queue along the trail, so you should probably take precautions while approaching them. This incredible expedition will take about 12 days to accomplish and will be exciting, enjoyable, and adventurous.

Manaslu Circuit Trek Route

After driving from Kathmandu to Aarughat and crossing the Dhading, you will arrive at Soti Khola, where the trek begins. You will arrive at Macha Khola after crossing the suspension bridge and other lesser settlements. After passing through a Jagat and other settlements along the trail and continuing uphill with Budhigandaki, you will eventually arrive at Deng.

The trail through a rhododendron forest will also lead you from Jagat to Namrung Settlement. Additionally, after leaving Jagat, you will proceed to Samdo by crossing the Samagaun. The path takes you to the Larke La pass by traversing the glacial edges once you acclimate at the Samdo.

From Samdo, you will drop back toward the Tilije, over the Bhimtang, and continue to descend toward the lush and productive valley of Bagarchap; crossing the fertile land,  you will eventually arrive at Besisahar. By taking a straight bus from Besisahar via several verdant landscapes, you will arrive at Kathmandu and put this expedition to an end.

Things to do before the Trek

Before the trek, there are numerous things you need to be aware of. Because the Manaslu Circuit Trek is challenging to moderate, you must plan and keep a few things in mind. Before the expedition, it’s crucial to first and foremost do your exercises and training. By engaging in cardiovascular and muscular strengthening workouts, you may make your body flexible and fit for the trek.

Running uphill and downhill while carrying a large pack would also help you have more endurance during trekking. Additionally, it would help if you did some study on the area you will be visiting. This will enable you to determine what should be done in the event of an obstruction. Making a weather forecast and packing all necessary trekking accessories can also help your trek go smoothly. Additionally, it would help if you didn’t forget that woolen clothing will be pretty helpful during Manaslu Circuit Trek.

Altitude mountain Sickness and how to prevent

Altitude sickness can be a severe challenge on the Manaslu Circuit Trek. Therefore, you must be well aware of this obstacle. This excursion has a broad elevation range of 700m to 5106m. Altitude sickness also has a greater probability of occurring. Altitude sickness, which manifests as headaches, exhaustion, and nausea, is more likely to occur when the body’s oxygen levels are lower. Additionally, there are several ways to reduce the risk of altitude sickness.

Exercising and working out would make it easier for you to prepare for the excursion. In addition, an increase in the body’s ability to absorb oxygen will result from proper body physicality. Additionally, there will be an altitude simulation that you may use to train before the trek.

It will reduce the oxygen level around you and make you more tolerant of low oxygen levels. In addition, you may be able to reduce your risk of altitude sickness throughout the climb by getting enough rest and eating the right foods.

Phone and wifi during the trek

There are many teahouses along the Manaslu circuit trek where you can use the internet. Before the arrival of the inclement weather, there won’t be any electricity issues in this area. You can also bring a phone if you need to communicate while trekking. You can purchase a local SIM card in Kathmandu for less than $1. Furthermore, the teahouses will have charging stations so you can power up your gadgets. However, most teahouses in the Manaslu region charge a minimal extra cost for the charging points and internet service.

Priceless Manaslu Circuit Trek

Thanks to Peregrine Treks & Tours for making this expedition’s conclusion one of my best life experiences; this adventure came to a magnificent conclusion. From the Ganesh Himal and Annapurna’s brink, I can still picture myself crossing the Samagaun with a smile on my face. The locals were so outstanding that the entire community lying beyond the clouds was peaceful and tranquil. The monasteries surrounding Manaslu were also a sight I’ll never forget. The trial for passing the Budhigandaki was beautiful. Overall, this expedition was priceless.

Breathtaking Larke La Pass

It is impossible to get to Nepal and fail to schedule a Manaslu Circuit Trek with Peregrine Treks and Tours. Everyone should at least give this a shot once in a lifetime, in my opinion. It was breathtaking to see the Manaslu region’s vegetation and fauna throughout the verdant landscape. I can still picture myself traveling through the clouds from Dharmasala to the Larke La pass on yak trials. Tibetans in the area show me the arts and crafts found in monasteries, representing both their culture and the Religion’s historical aspects. The excursion was something else, and I captured some extraordinary moments.

Fantastic Annapurna Trekking

I thoroughly explored the northern half of the Manaslu region on our fantastic expedition. While trekking, the settlement of Samagaun in the shadow of Manaslu and Ganesh Himal gave me a peaceful vibe. The residents had pleasant expressions and were quite connected to their Religion, representing peace and prosperity. I experienced extraordinary tremors when navigating the glacier at the Larke La pass. likewise, it was a spiritual journey. Before undertaking it, I had never felt anything so beautiful. I am grateful to Peregrine Treks and Tours for making it possible.

Excellent Himalayan View

I can now clearly recall the reason for last week’s joy: the successful completion of the challenging Manaslu Circuit Trek with Peregrine Treks and Tours. The meals were excellent throughout the trek. The flavors of the mutton biryani and pakora I ate on the trek will always be in my memory. For me, the distinctive yak milk pudding in the center of the Samdo was a memorable experience. Similarly, I had some of the coldest feelings I’ve ever had while descending the Larke La Pass. The prayer flags strewn across the trails remind me of chronological age in Nepal across the Himalayas.

The tranquil atmosphere of the teahouses while viewing the northern wilderness of the Manaslu region was beautiful. During the trek, the accommodations were excellent. I did not anticipate receiving satisfactory services even in the high elevations. Furthermore, It was such a fantastic experience to use the spacious bedroom and modern bathroom. Another significant sight throughout the trek was the stunning faces of the Ganesh Himal and Annapurna. In addition, the Himalayan foothills were home to a remarkably tranquil Tibetan culture. This adventure was exceptional, and I want to express my sincere gratitude to Peregrine Treks and Tours for organizing it professionally.

Incredible Manaslu Circuit Trekking

On the Arughat dirt road, I did not anticipate having a spectacular jeep ride. In the same breath, it was both frightening and exciting. Witnessing the fauna and rhododendron in the Manaslu Region was incredible. I’ll never forget a herd of musk deer crossing the trail as we made our way to Namrung Settlement. Similarly, the tranquil atmosphere was aided by the chanting bell sounds from monasteries throughout the Himalayas. The entire Manaslu region’s settlements were lit up by the snowy northern Himalayas, including Dhaulagiri and Gangapurna. Thanks to Peregrine Treks & Tours for offering this absolute blast through the Manaslu Region’s heart.
