This Everest base camp short trek is the ultimate trail leading towards Mount Everest. Leaving your footprints right in Everest’s base is legendary stuff. Moreover, Mt Everest Base, at an elevation of 5,360 meters, is a heavenly paradise. The incredible Khumbu Icefall and Khumbu Glacier complete the trek close to the base camp. We will provide airport transfer service from your hotel as per the flight ticket. . As per the scheduled time, you board a flight to Lukla. About 35 minutes of scenic flight above the green hills and mountains is going to a mesmerizing view.
Upon arrival at Lukla, the fascinating mountain peaks are already welcoming you. After some preparations here, we then slowly trek to Phakding. Our trekking commences with 3-4 hours of the easy walk via the farmlands and lush forests. Crossing several suspension bridges and waterfalls, the beauty of Everest will amuse you. Additionally, following the bank of the Dudh Koshi river, we hike towards Phakding. On the first night on Everest, enjoy the local dinner and warm sleep in a tea house.

Also, on the second day of Everest Base Camp Short Trek, we continue to follow the path to Dudh Kosi River banks. The first stop at Tok Tok overlooks the beautiful view of Thamserku peak. The path then moves to Chomoa where you get a glimpse of an agricultural project farm. Then, we further walk to the village of Monju at 2,840m before we enter the Sagarmatha National Park Area. This National park of 1,148 sq km, established in 1976, is recognized as a UNESCO world heritage site. Here, we must complete some legal formalities to enter the National Park.
We continue to climb to Jorsale until we cross the last (fifth) bridge. After some rest, we head for a long climb over the hill, where we get the first sight of Mt. Everest. Then the trail finally reaches the street of Namche Bazaar. This is another renowned Sherpa Heritage where we stop for the night. Namche Bazaar has some finest hotels and restaurants for us to crash for the night.
Overnight in Namche
In the morning, take your time to explore the beautiful village of Namche. You can enjoy some finest coffee and bakery even at such an altitude. The overall village looks vibrant and beautiful in the morning. Ideally, trekkers stop for a day in Namche to adjust to the such altitude, but as per our Everest Base Camp Short Trek itinerary, we continue the walk.
They begin the walk on the pleasant trail through the lush sub-tropical forest. The magnificent views of the mountains are distinct until we reach the village of Kenjoma, where we meet the trail from Khumjung. Then we pass the small settlement Sanasa and continue to Phunki Thanga. As the stimulating panorama of the Himalayan view gets prominent, you will enjoy the walk. Lastly, a steep climb through the forests of Tengboche monastery, located at 3,867m, will greet us. You can visit Tengboche Monastery in the evening. But if you are too tired to have some fun, go for a walk in the morning.
Overnight in Tengboche
After breakfast, the path first descends to Debuche. As we walk through the Rhododendron forest with beautiful mossy, we get to the small settlement at Milingga. Then, we cross the Imja Khola before we get to Pangboche. High above the river, Pangboche witnesses mountain scenery.
The 45 minutes walk-in barren landscape takes you to Somare. The path to the Dingboche takes you to the pasture seasonal stone dwellings at Warsaw. Moving the left trail goes to Pheriche, we cross the Lobuche Khola.
Then we continue the walk on a fluttering colorful Buddhist flag; we get to the northeast from Dingboche to Island Peak and then to Phokalde peak. Farther beyond, we walk to Dingboche, which is a stunning village in itself.
Overnight in Dingboche
We begin our trek after breakfast in the morning. Dingboche can be a good place for acclimatization if you are too tired to walk. The path moves through Dingboche steeply and gradually rises above the Pheriche village. Above the Duglha village, we can see the stunning views of Thamserku, Kangtekha, Tawachee, and Cholatse. From Duglha, the path ascends to the Dugla/Thukla Pass. You can see a stone memorial named people who sacrificed their lives during the Everest expedition. After passing the stream, we move on the right side of the river to the village of Lobuche. The accommodation is essential at this altitude, and the cold nights hit you. So. It’s essential to keep yourself warm at night.
Overnight in Lobuche
Today is the significant day of Everest Base Camp Short Trek. After breakfast, we walk to the nearby glacier for some amusing views. Then the path goes through the loose rocks towards Gorakshep. The ridge of the Gorakshep, offering a good view of Mt. Pumori, will be our stop. This is only a 2 to 3 hours walk.
In Gorakshep, we leave our bags and re-energies after lunch. Then, our walk further continues towards the Khumbu Icefall venture. Heading towards the Everest base camp, the walk gets strenuous due to the thin air and high altitude. The walk over the rocky dunes and moraine takes you to the base camp. Ensure you follow the guide, as this part of the trek can be misleading. After 2-3 hrs of the walk, you will stand at the base of the world’s tallest mountain.
In the base camp, take your time to capture the moment in your memories. Take a beautiful picture and make a good video. But most importantly, isolate yourself for some time and feel the peace of nature. After exploring the place, walk back to Gorakshep for an overnight stay.
Overnight in Gorakshep
In the morning, we begin to climb for two hours. The challenging walk will be worth getting the stunning view from the top of the peak. The popular viewpoint of Kalapathar at 5,550m is renowned for the most spectacular view of the trail.
The 360-degree view will make your heart joyful as you get the moment you have been dreaming. A black rocky peak of Kalapattar shows a view that is beyond imagination. There, the view of Pumori, Lingtren, Khumbutse, Changtse, Nuptse, and Everest greets you. After we cherish the panoramic view for some time, we walk back to Gorakshep. Take your time to pack the bags and enjoy the delicious breakfast in Gorakshep before we start the descent.
While trekking down, our first stop shall be Douglas. Then, we get to Pheriche and finally to Pangboche. Above the Imja River, Pangboche is an excellent place to stop for the night.
Overnight in Pangboche
Today is all about strolling down to the lower altitude. As we descend from Pangboche, Pheriche will be our first stop. The downward walk to Tengboche is pleasant. Then, we trace our walk back to the Namche Bazaar through the sub-tropical forest. The big Monastery followed by the large campsites and lodges beneath the soaring peaks will be pleasing. After some break, we descend back to Jorsale and finally crash as Manjo or the night.
Overnight in Manjo
Prepare yourself for the last day of the trek; today, we need to reach Lukla. After breakfast, the path slowly descends towards the Dudh Koshi River Bank. We encounter the villages of Benkar, Phakding, and Ghat along the way. Moreover, the Buddhist Mane wall painting, prayer flags, and the Chhortens will make your heart cherish. As we enjoy the lush green scenery and some last glimpse of the incredible mountain, we reach the Lukla. The whole walk is going to be less than five hours.
In the evening, you’ll have enough time to wander around. Enjoy the final dinner with your crew and celebrate the victory of the Everest Base Camp Short Trek together.
Overnight in Lukla
Usually, we get morning flights to Kathmandu due to the wind in the afternoon. Unless the flight time is delayed due to bad weather, we fly back to Kathmandu via Ramechhap Airport. Waving the final goodbye to the vast mountain vistas, hop into your place.
As you fly back to Kathmandu, the beautiful flashback of the journey will play in your head. As soon as we land at the domestic airport in Kathmandu, it’s time to drive back to the hotel. Our staff will make sure that you get to your hotel. Additionally, in the evening, you will have enough time to stroll around the hotel and shop for some souvenirs or gifts. Today is the final day of ending your Everest Base Camp Short Trek, so we provide dinner in an authentic Nepali Restaurant with Nepalese folk dance.

The journey of Everest Base Camp Short Trek begins spectacularly with a thrilling flight to Lukla is considered an adventurous airport in the world. After landing at Lukla, you trek along the bank of the Dudhkoshi River. Trekkers pass on the villages of Phakding and Monjo before they enter the Sagarmatha National Park Entry Gate. A short hike then takes you to Namche Bazaar, the Sherpa hub. This is a marketplace of Khumbu, the most high-altitude market in the world. As we reach Namche, the sights of Himal, such as Thamserku, Kwangde, Kusum Kangaru, etc., are distinctly visible. As we take our time to visit this beautiful village, we acclimatize to the higher altitude.
Now we walk into the sacred Tengboche Monastery into the Dingboche. You stop at this least dense village to walk into Nagarshan Hill. After this, the trekkers get into the treeless moraine of Everest. Walking via Lobuche, we stop at Gorakshep for this end. Gorakshep is the last stop at the tea house before we make 1.5 hrs of walk to the Everest Base Camp Short Trek. In the base camp, we take as many pictures as possible before we head back to the Gorakshep.
On the next day, we walk early for the sunrise view from the top section of Kalapatthar. After we collect all these legendary memories, it’s time to head back towards Lukla, where we get our flight to Kathmandu. The white cloud dots with the mountains makes for a miracle.
